061914-CongemiThursday, the Dolphins continued their preparation for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers (5-3) without Head Coach Joe Philbin who was away from the team because of a personal family matter. The defense continued to finalize the game-plan for Philip Rivers and the Chargers offense,  a unit that all Dolphins speak highly of after a week of film study. Also, rookie wide receiver Jarvis Landry received his first NFL award as he was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October. Landry averaged 35.6 kickoff return yards, the highest October mark in franchise history. Finally, the team’s second injury report of the week was released as linebacker Chris McCain was added to the Did Not Practice list. After a good week of practice, the Dolphins will return to the practice field on Friday for a walkthrough.
