It has been a bit of a bumpy ride to this point for the Dolphins on special teams. The inconsistent play has resulted in some players looking elsewhere for employment, a coaching change, and some new faces being brought in to help solidify the unit.
But, last week at Green Bay special teams definitely improved. There was one miscue on a punt, but for the most part field position was improved offensively, and limited on defense.
Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter was rewarded for his efforts by receiving the Special Teams Player of the Week honor by the league. Dan kicked the game-winning 44 yard field goal to win the game in overtime. Dan accounted for 11 points as he converted on all three of his field goal attempts and two point after attempts. He also kicked a career long 53-yarder with just 20 seconds left in the second quarter.
