As most everyone probably knows by now, the Dolphins have a bit of a different Friday this week, as the team left early this morning for New Jersey. Head coach Tony Sparano and owner Steve Ross will take the team to see the Broadway play “Lombardi” tonight, but before that, a practice at the Giants’ training facility. Before practice, Sparano met with the media for the final time before Sunday’s game against the Jets.
The coach once again was asked about the schedule change and clearly doesn’t seem bothered by it, reminding everyone that he has taken his teams out a day early before and that it hasn’t ever bothered them. As for practicing at the Giants’ facility, he seemed to indicate that his relationship with Tom Coughlin as well as Bill Parcells’ ties to the Mara family helped make things easier. If it didn’t work out, though, they’d just workout at a high school, like they did in Oakland.
As for on the field, Sparano said that since his offense has had success against the Jets’ defense this year, he feels pretty comfortable with the gameplan that they have put together and that “it’ll be an interesting game.”
Be sure to tune into the show today from 5-7 to hear Sam Madison and Keith Sims weigh in as we get set for Sunday’s game in Jersey.
