[1]Quarterback questions for John Congemi…

Garrett Campbell (Facebook): Is it going to be Chad Henne under center or do you think through free agency we’ll try and pick up someone like Kevin Kolb or Vince Young?

John Congemi: Garrett, I believe that Chad will start the season under center for the Dolphins. That said, if Carson Palmer, Matt Hasslebeck or Young find their way onto the roster, all bets are off. The only way Chad doesn’t start is if an experienced quarterback gets a full training camp to understand the new offense and can compete in a open competition. Remember, also, neither Kolb nor Young is currently a free agent.

Ryan Weston (Facebook): I still believe in Henne, though I know plenty of fans don’t, but I think with a new offensive coordinator and an improved offensive line he will do well. What do you think?

John Congemi: I’m with you Ryan because I still have faith in Chad. I do believe that a new offense with help his progression as a starter in the NFL. Brian Daboll should bring new ideas and more importantly a fresh start for Henne and the rest of this offense. Sometimes if you can blend new ideas with existing talent, you can rejuvenate and ignite an offense that was inconsistent last year.

@Alfred826 (Twitter): What do you think are Henne’s chances of starting this year and more importantly, what can he do to improve those chances?

John Congemi: I believe that the situation we’re in now (lockout) has all but secured Henne’s chances of being the starter this year. He’s been organizing the off-season conditioning and workouts, and teaching the wide receivers some of the terminology and new routes of this new offensive system. To get the starting job is one thing, but Henne will need to play with more consistency and play better in crucial situations to keep his job this season.

Joseph Trapani (Facebook): Could the Dolphins use a late-round flyer on Terrelle Pryor?

John Congemi: That’s getting into a situation that the Dolphins have been before (Pat White) and I’m not sure that they would entertain it again. They would have to invest the time and energy to develop Pryor just like they tried with White. Both are terrific athletes with a skill set more suited for the college game than the NFL. My guess is that Pryor would go to a team where he wouldn’t be expected to play quarterback for at least a year or two. They would try and use his skills to get him on the field, but not as a full-time quarterback.
