Brett LaGasse (Facebook): Do you think Daniel Thomas is pro-ready, as far as stepping in as a rookie and making a difference?
Troy Stradford: Not that I’ve seen much of him, but what I have seen and knowing what I know about the running back position, I have no doubt that he’ll be able to step in right away and make an impact.
Anthony Martin (Facebook): I hear that for a great RB the game seems to move in slow motion. Do you think they are born that way or is it something that is developed?
Troy Stradford: I think they’re born. You can teach people to catch better or to understand a system better, but there is a natural feel to running back that is something that cannot be taught. You can change little things–like how to hold the ball, etc., but the big skill set is something you’re born with.
Steve Reisinger (Facebook): If we are not anticipating Ricky Williams or Ronnie Brown to return, then why didn’t we draft Mark Ingram in the first round?
Troy Stradford: I can’t tell you what Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano were thinking, but I can tell you what I think, which is that looking at Ingram, he was not that much better than any of the other running backs coming out. To use that pick in the first round, is not a wise use of value. I could be proven wrong, but I definitely think the team made the right move to pass on him.
Shawn Miller (Facebook): Do you think we can land DeAngelo Williams?
Troy Stradford: Absolutely not. I don’t think the Miami Dolphins will be in the game for him. I think he returns to Carolina and plays another four or five years there.
Aaron Blalock (Facebook): There is a small group of people who like like to see Lex Hilliard get a chance to produce, what do you think?
Troy Stradford: I would like to see him in training camp as well as Kory Sheets, two guys that have been around here for a little bit. Even though the Dolphins are going to a new offensive system, Hilliard and Sheets are familiar with being a professional down here with the Dolphins and know what Coach Sparano expects. They’ve always been behind Ronnie and Ricky, but now they will get their opportunity early on in training camp. I have no idea how the two of them will perform, but I’m just as eager to see them as everyone else is.
Jagger Diefenderfer (Facebook): What NFL back does Thomas most remind you of?
Troy Stradford: In watching him, I see a little of Larry Johnson. That’s not saying he is Larry Johnson but I see a big back who’s deceptively fast and is a long strider who covers a lot of ground. He also reminds me a little of former Tennessee running back Eddie George.

Larry Johnson and Eddie George are the two former running backs that Thomas seems to remind me most of based on the film that I’ve watched of him.
