Game Recap: Cowboys 20, Dolphins 19
By on November 24, 2011 at 7:33 pm

The Dolphins saw their three-game winning streak come to an end as they fell 20-19 to the Dallas Cowboys this afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

Rookie Dan Bailey kicked a 28-yard field goal as time expired and the Cowboys took the fifth and final lead change of the day into the win column.

Down 19-17, Dallas got the ball back with 2:59 to go and moved down the field in 10 plays before kicking the field goal. Prior to the game-winning drive, the Dolphins got the ball with a two-point lead and 2:59 left, but went three and out before having to punt.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo finished the day 22-of-34 for 226 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions, but overcame a slow start and made some key plays in the second half to help lead his team to victory.

On the other side, Matt Moore was once again efficient, completing 19 of 32 for 288 yards and a touchdown but the Dolphin offense struggled in the red zone and was forced to attempt five field goals, four of which were made by Shayne Graham.

The one touchdown of the day for the Fins came on a 35-yard pass from Moore to Brandon Marshall late in the third quarter that at the time cut the Cowboys lead to 17-16. On the next¬†possession, Graham’s fourth field goal gave the Fins the lead, but they were unable to hold it.

In the first half, Miami was plagued by not being able to convert good starting field position into touchdowns and a critical error: the Cowboys scored their first of two TD’s after Moore missed a shotgun snap that was recovered by DeMarcus Ware at the Miami five yard line.

Next up, a couple of extra days to rest and recover before getting ready for the Raiders next Sunday at Sun Life Stadium.
