Game Recap: Jets 24, Dolphins 6

The frustration of 2011 continued in the Meadowlands tonight, as the Dolphins fell to 0-5 on the season thanks to a 24-6 loss to the Jets.

QB Matt Moore, making his first start as a Dolphin, made some throws, but was victimized by some key drops by his receivers as well as a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown by Darrelle Revis in the first quarter. Moore finished the night 16-of-34 for 204 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The Fins actually dominated the first two quarters statistically, but found themselves down 14-6 at halftime after a five-yard Mark Sanchez TD run late in the second quarter as Miami once again struggled to turn red zone opportunities into touchdowns.

In the second half, the Fins never seemed to seriously threaten offensively and the Jets added a 28-yard field goal and a 38-yard TD pass from Sanchez to Santonio Holmes as the cruised to their third victory of the year.

The 0-5 Dolphins are averaging just 15 points per game this season and only 12.8 points in their last four games, as they continue to struggle to get things going on the scoreboard.

The Dolphins now head back to South Florida and begin short-week preparations for Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos, who come to Sun Life Stadium this Sunday at 1 o’clock.
