Despite Record-Setting Day, Hartline Looking for Wins
By on October 1, 2012 at 8:04 am

Sunday at Arizona, wide receiver Brian Hartline had the most prolific day any Dolphin receiver had ever had.

His 253 yards were more than anyone named Warfield or Duper or Clayton or Chambers (who held the previous record of 238) ever came down with. Hartline, though, knew nothing of the record until he was in the locker room after the game.

“I had no idea unitl media came and talked to me and asked me how I felt about it,” Hartline told The Finsiders postgame show on Sunday night.

Despite his big day, Hartline was clearly frustrated with the ultimate outcome of the game.

“Bittersweet; I’m so [upset]…if you win the game, it’s awesome. If you don’t, it has the asterisk. And I don’t like being associated with asterisks.”

“I don’t really want to be a part of those [kinds of games] anymore. We need to start winning some football games, we’ve got to stop finding ways to lose. It’s getting old. I’m sick of losing. I don’t like losing.”

The conversation took place less than an hour after the conclusion of the game, but the fourth-year player was already looking ahead to next Sunday.

“It’s frustrating, but we’ve got a big one next week…if you dwell on it and let it affect the next game, then you’re causing even more problems. We’ve got to get over it, move past it, take the good, correct the bad and get ready for Cincinnati.”

Hartline, by the way, is now the NFL’s leading receiver with 455 yards on the season.
