Report: Floyd to Visit Dolphins
By on April 9, 2012 at 3:57 pm

With Brandon Marshall’s departure, the Dolphins are widely expected to add a wide receiver in this month’s draft.

It is yet to be seen, however, if Miami would be willing to add a prototypical No. 1 wide receiver in the first round of such a receiver-loaded draft. The picture may becoming a little clearer, though, as the Dolphins prepare to host former Notre Dame standout Michael Floyd.

Floyd, the former Notre Dame wide receiver, told NFL.com’s Gil Brandt that he would be visiting the Dolphins next week.

His pre-draft workout with the Dolphins will be one of several that will be conducted in the weeks preceding this month’s draft. After a solid pro day, Floyd’s stock is on the rise, warranting serious attention from teams drafting in the top half of the first round.

His size (6-3, 220 pounds) doesn’t seem to fit the “Green Bay” mold, so it will be interesting to see what level of interest the Dolphins have in Floyd.

It was also announced that Floyd would be one of the players the NFL has invited to attend the draft.

“My dream is to be an NFL superstar — to make it into the NFL,” Floyd told Sirius/XM Radio. “I don’t think the whole excitement has hit me yet. Once I’m there in New York and I hear my name called out, I’ll be jumping up and down because the dream came true.”

I’m going to be going to a TON of Fins games this year! Excitement is in the Florida air!

We should trade up to #3 but take Blackmon. How often does a Calvin Johnson or Andre Johnson come along? How much better would Moore be throwing with him on the field? We had a horrible free agency season so why not make a splash now. Swap picks with Vikes and give them the 3rd rounder we got for Marshall and we will be a better team!
