Catching Up With Dion Jordan
By on June 6, 2013 at 3:51 pm

JordanIt’s been a busy few months for Dion Jordan, the Dolphins’ first-round pick, who, since being drafted, has been finishing up school at the University of Oregon.

Dolphins fans have a pretty good idea of who they are getting on the field — a tall, rangy defensive end who is being brought in to get after the quarterback — but what’s the rookie like off of it?

Jordan showed off some of his personality during a recent stop in Los Angeles, where he caught up with the NFL Network’s Willie McGinest, after participating in the NFLPA Rookie Premiere photo shoot at the Rose Bowl.

OK, so say he and his teammates get a little down time, an off day or two during the season, what would he do for fun? ┬áJordan said that, like fellow defensive lineman Jared Odrick, he’s a big movie buff, picking Batman as his favorite summer blockbuster superhero.

“I say Batman because of the guy’s mentality,” Jordan said, “even though he doesn’t have super powers.”

Heading into Draft week, there may have been no indication that Jordan would be heading south to eventually join the Dolphins. There must have been a flood of emotions, knowing that your professional fate was about to be determined but yet have no real control over it. But, looking back, Jordan said that he truly enjoyed his week in the Big Apple.

“That was my first time in New York, my family’s first time in New York,” Jordan said. “I’ll never forget that week. It was a great experience.”
