The Ravens’ 18-16 win at Detroit on Monday Night Football doesn’t make life any easier on the Dolphins, but it also doesn’t change the fact that Miami still controls its destiny with two games to go.

As you can read below, even if the Fins and Ravens both finish the year at 10-6, they would both make the playoffs. Baltimore would be the AFC North champs and Miami the Wild Card (unless New England finishes 0-2, which would give Miami the AFC East crown), with the Dolphins winning the tiebreaker over the also 10-6 Bengals.

Meanwhile, there’s a chance that the Dolphins can clinch a playoff spot this week. If Miami picks up a win at Buffalo and the Ravens and Bengals both lose, the Dolphins are in.

The Dolphins’ dramatic 24-20 win over the Patriots [2] wasn’t the only good news for the team yesterday.

Thanks to the Steelers’ 10-point win over the Bengals, the Dolphins are now in control of their own playoff destiny–even if Baltimore picks up a win tonight in Detroit.

If Miami and Baltimore both win out and finish 10-6, the Ravens would actually end up as AFC North champs (they play at Cincinnati Week 17 and would therefore have swept the Bengals) and the potentially also 10-6 Bengals would then fall into a tiebreaker scenario with the Dolphins. Because of Miami’s Halloween night win over Cincy, the 10-6 Dolphins would take the AFC Wild Card over the 10-6 Bengals.

Easy, right?

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are also technically still alive for the AFC East crown, though any combination of a Patriots win or a Dolphins loss would give the division to New England. That said, if the Dolphins win at Buffalo and against the Jets and the Patriots somehow lose both at Baltimore and at home against the Bills, Miami would be division champs.

The most important thing right now, though? The Dolphins control their own destiny. If they win their final two games they are in the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Remaining Schedules:

Dolphins (8-6): at BUF, vs. NYJ

Ravens (8-6): vs. NE, at CIN

Bengals (9-5): vs. MIN, vs. BAL

Patriots (10-4): at BAL, vs. BUF
