While the induction is still a few months away, 110 members — just one shy of the all-time record — have indicated they plan to attend, with officials expecting the final number to exceed 130 Hall of Fame attendees.
The induction of the 2013 class — Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Curley Culp, Jonathan Ogden, Bill Parcells, Dave Robinson and Warren Sapp — as well as the completion of the Hall of Fame’s two-year, $27 million expansion is scheduled to attract more than the typical 75-80 returning Hall of Famers.
“We are truly excited that so many Hall of Famers will be on hand this year to help celebrate both the enshrinement of the newest Class as well as our 50th Anniversary,” said Hall of Fame President/Executive Director Steve Perry. “For many this will be the first time our Hall of Famers will see the ’new’ Hall of Fame and we’re anxious to see their reaction. We know they will be pleased.”
The Dolphins will take on the Dallas Cowboys at Fawcett Field, in Canton, Ohio, in the 2013 Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, Aug. 4, the night after the enshrinement ceremony.
