The position battle at cornerback has apparently taken a twist, as ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Dolphins have released veteran Richard Marshall.
As the story mentions, the team’s depth chart listed Marshall as a starter, opposite Brent Grimes, though Dimitri Patterson has seen time in that spot, as well.
PFT also reports that the Dolphins attempted to trade Marshall before eventually releasing him:
Dolphins tried to trade CB Richard Marshall before cutting him, but found no takers.

Marshall originally signed with the Dolphins as a free agent last offseason but was limited to just four games in 2012 due to a back injury.
