Jeff Darlington of NFL Network has reported the Miami Dolphins will extend Richie Incognito’s suspension with pay throughout the remainder of Ted Wells’ investigation.

The NFL prohibits teams from suspending players beyond four games, so the Dolphins were facing a deadline of the Monday after the Jets’ game to make a decision on Incognito’s status. The new agreement between the Dolphins and Incognito has been approved by both the league and the NFL Players Association.

It was announced Incognito was suspended indefinitely back on November 3rd, and rookie Sam Brenner has filled in for Miami in Incognito’s absence.
