REPORTS: Several Undrafted Free Agents Sign With Dolphins
By on April 27, 2013 at 9:46 pm

Another Draft may be in the books, but the wheeling and dealing is still underway. Though it may seem like a setback initally, undrafted free agents have a little bit more control over the process; they can sort through the offers extended and choose a landing spot.

These players will help to fill out a team’s 90-man offseason roster and are affored an opportunity to impress the coaching staff before cuts are made.

Here are Dolphins’ first round of REPORTED priority free-agent signings:

The Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero reports Mississippi State Chad Bumphis has signed.

Former Oregon linebacker Michael Clay tweets that he’ll be joining Dolphins’ first-round pick Dion Jordan and linebacker Josh Kaddu in Miami.

Arkansas State wide receiver Taylor Stockemer tweets that he’s to Miami.

Salguero also reports that Southern Illinois offensive lineman Eric Bergman signs with the Dolphins

Old Dominion defensive tackle Chris Burnette says he signs with Miami

Arkansas OLB Alonzo Highsmith, Volin tweets.

The Daily Advertiser’s UL-Lafayette beat reporter tweets that former ULL DE Emeka Onyenekwu signs with Dolphins

The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reports that Mount Union receiver Jasper Collins also joins the fold.

BYU athletics department tweets that LB Brandon Ogletree has signed a free-agent deal.

Findlay QB Clay Belton signs, Volin reports.

Arizona State safety Keelan Johnson also signs with the Dolphins, according to the Arizona Republic’s Doug Haller

Another Sun Devil, RB Cameron Marshall, will also join Johnson in Miami

Loving the Terrell Sinkfield signing as well and the fact that David Hinds has been given a camp tryout. This ship is headed in the right direction. When you can have a draft like we had and then bring in quality UDFA’s after the draft to compete for roster spots and help upgrade the entire team it says a lot about the people evaluating the talent. Sinkfield’s stats don’t tell the whole story. The kid can play the game and he can snatch just about any ball out of the air plus he’s got the speed. This kid is not Clyde Gates; he’s much better than that. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make the 53.
Great job done by Ireland and the coaching staff going out and getting the best “acorns” available after the draft.

Pumped about several FA signings including Michael Clay, Jordan Kovacs, Jasper Collins, Chad Bumphis who had a really good Shrine Game and Cam Marshall. All quality pickups at the end of the draft process who can help this team and bring depth. Clay and Kovacs should make the team on st’s to start and I would be surprised if Marshall didn’t make the roster as well. In any case, it gives the Fins more weapons to choose from and evaluate on offense and defense.
I also saw that they picked up the DT from ODU. I hope they took notice of his teammate Craig Wilkins at OLB.
