Shula Visits Philbin And Coaching Staff
By on April 12, 2013 at 1:10 pm

ShulaVisit1Earlier this week, Hall of Fame coach Don Shula paid a visit to the Doctors Hospital Training Facility to visit with current coach Joe Philbin and his staff.

Philbin gave a tour of the recently renovated facility to the man who helped build it and also welcomed him into the team’s practice bubble for the first time.

After a meeting with Shula during last season, Philbin shared some words of wisdom he picked up from the man that led the Dolphins to their two Super Bowl titles:

“I think Coach Shula once said, ‘Uncorrected errors will multiply.’ So if you don’t correct things, then they just fester again and they pop up and they rear their ugly head at the most inopportune times.”

Shula was introduced to the entire coaching staff and spoke to them about his experiences as the winningest coach in NFL history. Afterwards, he ate lunch with the coaches and team staff in the facility’s dining room.

sikk21 Do you know amy thing about football’all that logo will do is cause them to lost the 1972 season.Super Bowl , Super Bowl. The Pats won 3 Bowls because they have the best coaches in the NFL and like Shula was they put the people on the field that want to win.

Blocker3 is the dumb one,He don’t know anything about a true fan ‘ but does about a dumber than ???? logo’s.Been a fan since 1969 and I picked that team because of that Logo. But your right about getting over it.GO COWBOYS.

sikk21 says:

blocker3 is right. The new logo isn’t dumb at all. Who hasn’t seen a Dolphin swimming past the sun?

I’m sure glad they took that grimacing face off the logo because logos are supposed to make sense. What does any animal have to do with football? At least the leaping mammal with the FOOTBALL helmet represented the original mascot, named TD, of the Miami Dolphins team. I’ve always thought simpler designs were the best, but maybe you’re right. The No Fun League probably needs to have a “real” looking dolphin for political correctness.

There could be a flaw in your argument that winning will make everyone forget the team has a different logo. It seems that many Patriots fans still prefer the old logo of Pat the Patriot, even though the new logo was followed by 3 Super Bowl wins. I dunno why because the Patriots never won a Super Bowl in their old logo. Maybe the preference has something to do with sharing a familiar tradition with ones kids of the team one grew up watching.

Now please step down off your pedestal. Lots of young people are hurting themselves these days throwing tantrums from other peoples thoughts…

Shula knew about the logo before you did. So did Marino and they both liked it. Get over it. The old logo was dumb. Since when do Dolphins wear Football helmets and have eyebrows? The Dolphins aren’t exactly an intimidating team name. Don’t need to add to the lameness with a Dolphin giving a mean face while it wears a stupid helmet. New logo is clean and simple. It’s better. Nike will do a good job making the whole uniform look nice. And when they make the playoffs everyone will forget about what the logo looks like.

BrentGorcie says:

The new logo is cliche and trendy…not to mention heavily flaming in its backward arched position. I guarantee this logo will be changed in a few years…once it’s noted how “south beach” it looks. Might as well just draw a beach ball at the tip of his nose… Grumpy helmet wearing Dolphin from the 60′s/70′s eat’s peoples faces off. *blocker3* is lame.

Shula should have told him to go back to the Dolphins true LOGO.

The new logo is great! I don’t know what everyone’s problem is with it but I love it. I’ve been a dolphins fan since 1982 and I’m proud of our history and proud of our new look moving forward. Great job in free agency by the way! Go fins!!!!!
