Now that Mike Wallace has formally been introduced by the Dolphins and his addition has been analyzed extensively, it’s time for a little housekeeping: What uniform number will the big-play receiver wear in Miami?
The No. 17, which he wore in Pittsburgh, belongs to Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, which has prompted some light-hearted chatter about a potential swap. So did the number come up when two had dinner on Tuesday night? No, Wallace said, there were more important things to discuss; it was all about football, starting with how the receiver can make an immediate impact.
But Wallace did give The Finsiders a sartorial update when he sat down in studio on Wednesday, and he said he has “to keep it low.”
“If I couldn’t get 17, I’d probably go with maybe 11 or something.”
No matter which number Wallace chooses, the Dolphins hope that opposing defenders see plenty of it in 2013, on the back of his jersey, as he’s making his way into the end zone for a score.
