The Miami Dolphins had a vacancy at the linebackers coaching position when former LB coach George Edwards accepted a job as defensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings. That position has now reportedly been filled.
According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, the Dolphins have hired Jacksonville Jaguars linebackers coach Mark Duffner to the same position.

Duffner had been with Jacksonville as the linebackers coach since 2006. He served in the same capacity on the Green Bay Packers staff before that from 2003 to 2005, being on the same staff as Dolphins Head Coach Joe Philbin. He also spent time on the Cincinnati Bengals staff as the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator.
Duffner has ties to defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle as well, as Coyle originally served as defensive coordinator for him in the college ranks under Duffner while he was the head coach at the University of Maryland and the College of Holy Cross.
