Week Two Final Injury Report

[1]One of the hardest things for a fantasy owner to do is make the call of benching his starter who is questionable, in favor of a guy that is less desirable, but a full go. That is where TheFinsiders.com comes in; we provide you all your last minute injury news and updates so you can get those starters out and your back-ups in and have the best chance possible to win each and every week!

Beanie Wells – RB Cardinals: Wells is dealing with a hamstring injury, but will play on Sunday. At best Wells is a weak flex play this week.

Roddy White – WR Falcons: White is listed as questionable with a groin injury, and was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. The good news is he was a full participant on Saturday, and is likely to play on Monday night.

Steve Smith – WR Panthers: Smith left practice on Thursday with knee soreness, but Coach Ron Rivera said Smith would play on Sunday “Without a doubt.” Smith is a top 10 WR option as long as Cam I Am is throwing him the pigskin.

Jonathan Stewart – RB Panthers: Stewart turned in a full practice on Friday, and is likely to be available for the Panthers today. I personally don’t trust him enough to be in my fantasy line-up right now, and would consider him nothing more than a low-end flex play at best.

Calvin Johnson – WR Lions: Megatron practiced in full on Friday and will be on the field for the Lions today. Johnson is still a fantasy beast, so make sure he is in your line-up.

Austin Collie – WR Colts: Collie is once again likely to be a game-time decision, but is listed as officially doubtful. Just go ahead and get him out of your line-ups and on the bench. I do think he will have WR3 value when he finally takes the field.

Daniel Thomas – RB Dolphins: Thomas has been officially ruled out this week, which means Reggie Bush will carry a full load of work.

Hakeem Nicks – WR Giants: Nicks is dealing with a bumb wheel (foot), but Coach Tom Coughlin expects him to play. I have downgraded Nicks to a WR2/3 this week, and leaning more towards the WR3 range.

Dustin Keller – TE Jets: Keller has been ruled out for week 2, and isn’t a very good fantasy option in any format. You would be MUCH better off going with a waiver wire pick like Kyle Rudolph for the duration of the season.

Stephen Hill – WR Jets: Hill was limited again on Thursday, but is listed as likely will play. Hill had a lot of success in week 1, but is highly unlikely to duplicate that performance again this season. He has some fairly serious QB problems to deal with and he is a sell-high candidate.

Denarius Moore – WR Raiders: Moore looks like he is over his hamstring injury that kept him out of week 1.  He is a WR3 with some upside going forward.

DeSean Jackson – WR Eagles: is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. Jackson’s legs are his money makers, so any problem with them is a concern. Jackson is overrated as a fantasy WR, and I have him ranked as a solid WR3.

Jeremy Maclin – WR Eagles: Maclin (hip) assured reporters that he will play today, but I have him ranked right next to Jackson as a WR3. The Ravens defense is going to hurt the Eagles offensive fantasy numbers, and I would sit either of them if at all possible.

Rashard Mendenhall – RB Steelers: Mendenhall is listed as doubtful again this week, and is almost a lock to not play. Jonathan Dwyer is also on the injury report with a sore foot. Dwyer is going to play and Mendenhall will not.

Ryan Mathews – RB Chargers: The San Diego Union Tribune is saying that Mathews is likely to miss today’s game, and I give them the edge seeing as they are at every Norv Turner press conference. The good news is that they are listing Antonio Gates as a go for today’s game. Get Mathews out for another week, and put Gates in.

Kenny Britt – WR Titans: Britt missed the first game due to a suspension, but he made the injury report with an off-season knee surgery that is still bothering him. The coaching staff is likely to put him on a snap count, but he should provide WR3 value, with a bump up to the WR2 range going forward.

Pierre Garcon – WR Redskins: Garcon made a huge impression in week 1, and RGIII is going to make him a fantasy stud this season… if he can stay healthy. Garcon left the opening game of the season with a foot injury that is still bothering him. He is expected to participate in pre-game warm-ups to see if he can go, but the signs are leaning towards him sitting this one out.

Keep checking back as we get closer to game-time, as I will be posting official news as it comes in. Don’t get caught with someone in your line-up that will get you a goose egg due to injury!
