If NFL franchises aren’t investing in running backs like they used to, it isn’t necessarily an indictment of an individual’s talent; for instance, many scouts felt that Trent Richardson’s was one of the–if not the–best prospect in April’s draft.
With the start of free agency hopefully coming any week now, we begin a series on guys we think the Dolphins could be targeting in the open market. Chris Boyle (Facebook): Once the lockout ends will the Dolphins go after a quarterback?
Jesse Agler: Absolutely. They pretty much have to just from a roster standpoint. Right now, Chad Henne is under contract. That’s it. There’s a chance (depending on what the new CBA says) that Tyler Thigpen will be back after he was tendered, but I would guess that the new rules will make him a free agent when they new league year starts.
