Today the Miami Dolphins announced that they have terminated the contract of two players, waived 18 others, and acquired versatile offensive lineman Pat McQuistan from the Cowboys for an undisclosed draft pick.
There are some definite surprises here, starting with the fact that TE David Martin, re-signed midway through training camp, has had his contract terminated. The team can, of course, bring him back early in the regular season, which could change the amount of guaranteed money that he is owed.
Coach Sparano spoke between practices today and once again shed some light on what it is he’s looking for as positional battles start to develop. In his time with the media the last four days, Sparano has said the word “consistency” as much as any other word and it’s clear that he values that sort of effort out of his guys.
