The Dolphins got back to work today and now set their sights on another division rival, the New England Patriots.
The team did waive linebacker Erik Walden and signed defensive lineman Robert Rose. Rose, had previously been with the team for a quick look.

Coach Tony Sparano met with the media today as the Fins are officially in Minnesota-mode. With the day off yesterday, the team returned to practice today, and afterwards, the coach was asked about a variety of topics. When addressing the Vikings’ run defense, Sparano said that their unit is one of the best he’s seen “in a long time” but that you still have to run the ball and play to your own strengths.
Today the Miami Dolphins announced that they have terminated the contract of two players, waived 18 others, and acquired versatile offensive lineman Pat McQuistan from the Cowboys for an undisclosed draft pick.
There are some definite surprises here, starting with the fact that TE David Martin, re-signed midway through training camp, has had his contract terminated. The team can, of course, bring him back early in the regular season, which could change the amount of guaranteed money that he is owed.
Well training camp has finally arrived and by now you get the idea: we’re counting down the Dolphins roster from the very highest number to the very lowest. Today’s entry focuses on the players who wear a uniform number in the 50’s, which means we get to know some more linebackers…
#59 J.D. Folsom: A seventh round pick of the Dolphins in 2009, Folsom bounced on and off the practice squad last year and was dressed for two games in the regular season including the season finale against the Steelers.
