2012 Fantasy Draft Quarterback Preview
By: James Morris
The 2012 NFL season is finally here, and that also means it is time to gear up for some fantasy football! This season is even more special for the Dolphins organization because we are bringing you the inaugural season of the Miami Dolphins fantasy football section!
The hardest thing about playing fantasy football is navigating the news, info, injuries, waiver wire add/drops, trades and stats to make the best decisions possible week in and week out.
For the many of you that have your 2011 Fantasy Football drafts in one of the next several nights, here’s a quick look at the running back and wide receiver positions.
The strategy with running backs has changed drastically in the last 5-10 years of fantasy football. The predominant strategy used to be to take an RB in each of the 1st two rounds and then possibly a 3rd back in round 4 or 5 because you couldn’t win in Fantasy without elite running backs.
With many fantasy drafts happening this week and early next week, it’s time to begin our 2011 fantasy football coverage! We’ll start with the quarterback position and why not? It’s a position that in most scoring formats earns more points than any other spot.
With so many mock drafts continuing to suggest that the Dolphins will take Alabama RB Mark Ingram at #15 and with my continued assertion that he isn’t worth drafting at that position because “running backs are a dime a dozen,” I figured it was time to share with you some of the other RBs who could have an impact in this year’s draft.
The Miami Dolphins came into today’s game against the Detroit Lions looking for their second home win of the season and things looked good with five minutes left and the Dolphins on top 27-17. A 53-yard Jahvid Best TD catch and two Chad Henne interceptions later, though, the Fins found themselves down 34-27 and facing a chorus of boos from the home crowd.
