Miami Dolphins Head Coach Joe Philbin came to the podium at his daily press conference today and announced that rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill would be the starter. This news isn’t shocking considering the progress Tannehill has shown throughout training camp and in his two appearances in the preseason games.
It’s funny how things worked out for Tannehill. It took a injury to quarterback David Garrard to open this competition up again and the fact that quarterback Matt Moore didn’t get the best effort from his supporting cast last Friday night in Carolina.
With all the talk about when the time will be right for Ryan Tannehill to take the reigns of the Dolphins offense, I think it could be helpful to look at another team that was recently in a similar situation. A very similar situation.
