This one’s going to stir it up.

Did Chad Henne have a better 2010 season than the Dolphins pass defense? Almost all of you would say no. And understandably. Henne struggled at times and as all quarterbacks do, got the brunt of the fans’ frustrations thrown upon him. The defense, meanwhile, had a resurgent year under new coordinator Mike Nolan and we continued to see guys like Vontae Davis and Sean Smith mature in the secondary.

With the 2010 season in the rearview mirror for the Miami Dolphins, I figured it might be fun to tally up the gameballs that we have given out all year long. After every game, win or lose, Jim Mandich, Joe Rose, Jimmy Cefalo, Sam Madison, Keith Sims, John Congemi, and I have all given out gameballs to the players we felt had the greatest individual performances for the Dolphins in a given game.

After practice today, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano met with the media to continue to discuss the change at quarterback as well as the upcoming games against the Titans and Bears. Why the Bears already? With that game coming just four days after the previous one, the coach mentioned that the preparation schedule will be highly accelerated heading into the game against Chicago.

The Dolphins announced a pair of roster moves today, as the team cut ties with defensive back Jason Allen and brought in veteran cornerback Al Harris, who was recently waived by the Packers. Allen was a first  round draft choice of the Dolphins in 2006.

Harris, meanwhile, has been in the NFL for 13 seasons, playing for Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, and Green Bay.

When you think of the great historical moments in the history of the National Football League, you no doubt think of some of the legendary stadia in which those moments took place. Whether it is the Orange Bowl, site of so many Super Bowl moments, or old Yankee Stadium, or Candlestick Park, or any other, you can almost feel the history of these shrines to the game.

It is just three games into the 2010 season, but Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis has already shown enough on the field for opposing teams to shy away from his side of the field.

Following the team’s win at Minnesota, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre had high praise for the Dolphins first round pick of a year ago, saying Vontae may be the best corner no one knows about.

Following last night’s 31-23 loss to the Jets, Coach Tony Sparano met with the media today to continue discuss what went right and wrong against New York.

A big topic, of course, was the Wildcat offense, which Sparano categorized as “average” last night and when asked if he thought it was a hinderance to the flow of the offense, he simply said, “No.”

Other notes:

-When asked if he thought chemistry between a quarterback and wide receiver is a big deal, Sparano said that the main thing it does is allow a QB to start to look for his WR in key spots and that it seems like that’s the developmental path that Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall are on.
