Many fantasy football drafts are right around the corner, so it’s time for our fantasy guru, James Morris, to continue his 2012 Fantasy Football preview. After breaking down the quarterbacks and running backs in recent weeks, James turns his attention to the wide receiver position. Here are his wide receiver rankings based on standard (non-PPR) scoring formats::
1) Calvin Johnson: Megatron is the best WR in the NFL, and the race isn’t even close.
The wide receiver position is an interesting one moving forward for the Miami Dolphins in 2012 because the offensive philosophy will change for the third time in a three-year span! Players and fans alike are assuming more timing and rhythm throws in anticipation of the west coast offense that head coach Joe Philbin has run in the past.

With former Steelers and Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress now out of prison, the logical question becomes “where will Plax play?” We certainly don’t have any answers today (and thanks to the labor situation, we might not for some time), but we have heard some good rumors swirling around. In order to answer this question as best we could, we spoke to several different media members who cover several different NFL teams about Burress’s future.
