The power rankings get narrowed from 12 teams to eight after the Bengals, Falcons, Lions, and Steelers were all eliminated in the Wild Card round. Despite the fact that home teams hadn’t been nearly as dominant as they once were in the first round recent years, all four home teams won this past weekend setting up a tasty Divisional weekend. Anyway, here are my rankings of the final eight:
#8: Denver (9-8): I was very impressed with the Broncos’ win over the Steelers but as you can probably guess, I’m still not a believer in Tebow.
Well, the 2011 regular season has come and gone and this Saturday, the postseason begins. Instead of power-rankings the top 10 teams in the NFL this week, we’ll expand it a bit to include all 12 playoff teams and give everyone a fresh start. Next week, we’ll cut it down to eight and continue like that. Enjoy the longest list of the season and be sure to vote in the poll!
As we head into the final week of the 2011 regular season, there is plenty of debate to be had about who the top 10 teams are in the NFL. While not all of the teams below will make it into the postseason, many of them have the top spots in their respective conferences locked up. It’s not all about the standings though and in fact, the AFC South and West are represented by exactly zero teams in this week’s power rankings.
Moves, moves and more moves. That’s the theme of this week’s Top 10 as we had a major shake-up in the top five for the first time in a long time. Despite the loss, the Packers stay #1, and with tears in my eyes I bounced both the Jets (previously seventh) and Broncos (tenth) out of the rankings. Keep reading to see where the rest of the chips fall and be sure to vote in this week’s poll!
With just three weeks left in the regular season, all’s quiet in the top five of this week’s power rankings, thanks to wins by the Packers, Saints, Steelers, Ravens, and Patriots. That said, there’s some shuffling in the bottom half of the Top 10 and, yes, the Broncos make their first appearance of the season. So, as we head into Week 15, we all know that there’s plenty of NFL drama ahead; here’s this week’s Top 10 and don’t forget to vote in the poll, as well…
#10: Denver (Unranked last week, 8-5): I couldn’t hold out anymore.
Tough week in the power rankings. I had to put the Jets back in, had to consider adding the Broncos, and wanted to add the Fins, but couldn’t. The top five stays the same as last week (though I was tempted to shuffle) and we’ve got two new teams in this week. Keep reading to see how I power-rank the top 10 teams in the NFL and don’t forget to vote in this week’s poll:
#10: Atlanta (#8 last week, 7-5): The Falcons drop a couple of spots after an ugly loss to TJ Yates and the Texans.
This is the week it happens. The week everyone piles on and crushes me. There are big changes from last week and some of the events of the last seven days have really forced me to adjust my power-ranking outlook. There are leap-frogs and big drops and big gains in this week’s rankings, but still no change at the top:
#10: Oakland (Unranked last week, 7-4): Almost on cue, another Dolphins’ opponent pops into the Top 10.
Not a lot of movement in this week’s power rankings, though now that bye weeks are finished for the season and things start to get tight down the stretch, we can expect plenty of craziness in the not-too-distant future. Last week’s rankings look very similar to this week’s, and of course there is no change at the top. Check ‘em out, leave your comments, and don’t forget to vote for who you think should be #1!
Time for another adventure through the land of power rankings, as we attempt to put the top 10 teams in the NFL in some kind of order. There was some definite moving and shaking since last week’s rankings came out, with plenty more fun ahead. There is and has been one constant, though: the Green Bay Packers are #1. Keep reading to see about spots two through 10:
#10: Atlanta (#8 last week, 5-4): The Falcons drop a couple of spots after their OT loss to the Saints.
Another week of madness in the NFL and another week of power rankings, as Sunday and Monday’s results mix everything up. Several teams I’d love to include in the Top 10 just couldn’t be fit in this week and while there is no change at #1, there is plenty of movement up and down the list. Keep reading to see more and be sure to vote on what team you think should be #1:
#10: Houston (#10 last week, 6-3): The Texans did what they were supposed to do this week, handling the Browns at home.
