John Congemi, a record-setting QB during his days at Pitt, has been checking out the talent at the Senior Bowl in Mobile all week long. With many Dolphin fans excited about some of the six QBs participating, John is here to break down the strengths and weaknesses of the guys who are being spotlighted this week:
QB Analysis, by John Congemi:
After three days of Senior Bowl practices, it’s time for me to go in-depth on my favorite position, the quarterback position.
Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi is one of three quarterbacks suiting up for the North team at the Senior Bowl this week, and at 6’4″, 230lbs, he is garnering definite attention from potential NFL suitors. In 2010, Stanzi threw for at least three touchdowns in five different games and finished the year having thrown for over 3,000 yards and 25 TDs. A three-year starter at Iowa, Stanzi saw his touchdown to interception ratio improve dramatically this season, going from 17:15 in 2009 to 25-6 in 2010.
A long Tuesday in Mobile came to a close for John Congemi after taking in both the North and South practices as well as taking part in general manager Jeff Ireland’s press conference. Here are John’s final thoughts on the day:
Day 2 Recap:
Following the conclusion of watching a full day of senior bowl practice, the Dolphins general manager spoke to reporters in the bleachers at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
North Practice, 1/25/11:
Day two of the Senior Bowl was a little more exciting than day one, as the North practiced in full pads this morning, and the offense and defense went right at it from the start.
